Wilkinsburg Needs Your Voice
Wilkinsburg residents have the opportunity to get a referendum on the ballot to decide whether we merge with the City of Pittsburgh. Last fall, we held two community listening sessions to hear from residents, business owners, and others involved in Wilkinsburg. Check out session one and session two.
We continue gathering feedback, ideas, and questions from community members and look forward to keeping this conversation going. Below are options for you to get involved in this campaign and share your perspective.
Volunteer
We need your help to get the word out. Petitions will be circulated in Wilkinsburg between July 2 and September 28, 2022. From there, a petition will be submitted to the Court of Common Pleas for approval. Upon approval this fall, Pittsburgh City Council will be ordered to vote on annexation, giving Wilkinsburg voters the chance to vote on the issue, within 90 days. Following a yes vote, Wilkinsburg voters will see the annexation referendum on their May 2023 ballots.
